Reverse Supply Chain Improvement Manager at Philips

The primary responsibility of the Service Parts Supply Chain (SPS) is to serve patients, clinicians and engineers who rely on healthcare equipment that works. The key purpose is to provide them with the right part when and where they need it – every time.

The Global Logistics function is responsible and accountable for physical distribution activities within the Service Parts Supply Chain:

  • Global forward and returns warehousing and inventory accuracy management
  • E2E reverse supply chain optimization
  • Transportation inventory fulfillment from vendor to warehouse and in-network replenishment
  • Global network design and optimization
  • Logistic cost management and reduction
  • Management of Third party logistic providers (3PLs) operating our transportation, warehousing and transactional activities (Business Process Outsourcing)

As a Reverse Supply Chain Improvement Manager, you are part of the Global Logistics team, reporting to the Director of Global logistics. In your daily role you work closely with the global return operations team on your core responsibilities:

  • Build and develop the SPS Global E2E Reverse supply chain strategy roadmap with strategic alignment across all stakeholders
  • Identify and improve current process, compliance and performance gaps in the E2E reverse supply chain
  • Identify future requirements and capabilities for the E2E reverse supply chain and lead the build of those capabilities, amongst others:
    • Parts leakage reduction
    • Throughput time differentiation
    • Local scrap capabilities
    • Failure analysis returns improvement
  • Design and implement an End-to-End Reverse Control Tower with external partners and integrate the capability of Philips transportation management system (TMID) in this solution.
  • Define, build and implement, together with our return warehouse provider, solutions which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations.
  • Build capability in the End-to-End Reverse supply chain to speed up parts return from the Field back to the good stock warehouse.
  • Support the implementation of Philips Transportation Management System (TMID) across all reverse lanes in SPS and enable to use the capabilities and data for further performance and cost improvements.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations or economics
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain environment
  • Knowledge of reverse logistics, returns management, circular economy and refurbishment
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP, Service Max is preferred
  • Proven track record in designing global processes and process improvements in global supply chains
  • Proven track record of leading multi-discipline projects in a global organization
  • Strong in change management and ability of convince internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to translate data insights into improvement initiatives
  • Be a strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality
  • Capable of building business cases and KPIs to improve performance
  • Be Results driven, a fast learner and known about taking ownership
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across functions and organizations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
