Introduction to the job

As a Labor Expert at ASML, you will play a pivotal role in conducting occupational research and providing thoughtful, well-informed advice to both employees and managers. Your core focus will be on absenteeism, illness, and reintegration possibilities—ensuring that every recommendation is both practical and empathetic. ASML is actively advancing its approach to these topics and is seeking an innovative professional with a proven track record in absence management. This role offers the opportunity to join the People Operations team and help shape impactful reintegration strategies across the company.

Role and responsibilities

Your goal is to guide employees through reintegration in a supportive and compliant manner, ensuring alignment with Dutch laws and regulations.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting occupational research and, when necessary, initiating follow-up investigations
  • Providing well-considered advice to managers and employees to support a timely and sustainable return to work, while minimizing the impact on both the employee and the organization
  • Designing and proposing tailored interventions, and clearly documenting these in reports for employees and managers
  • Supporting appeal procedures related to illness cases
  • Acting as a sparring partner for health experts, HR business partners, managers, company doctors, and legal advisors in complex absenteeism situations

Education and experience

  • Post-HBO degree in Labor Expertise, with certification and registration as a Labor Expert
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Labor Expert
  • At least 1 year of experience working within a complex, international organizational environment
  • In-depth knowledge of Dutch legislation and regulations related to long-term illness and reintegration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English

Skills

To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:

  • Transfer occupational health knowledge to managers and employees in a clear, structured, and accessible manner
  • Take ownership of cases and confidently manage complex situations with autonomy and accountability
