The vacancy: Operational Buyer NPR

Join us on our journey! We're looking for a customer-focused and proactive Operational Buyer (NPR) to support our team for a period of 9 months (with possible extension).

As an Operational Buyer NPR, you are responsible for the timely purchasing of a wide range of required materials and services. You will be working within GKN Fokker Aerospace Landing Gear in the Operational Procurement team and report to the Procurement Operations Manager.

The key aspects of this role include ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of goods and services, procured at the right price-quality ratio. You have a keen eye for continuous improvement, supplier management, and clear and timely communication with stakeholders. This role requires a pragmatic approach, quick decision-making, leadership skills, and the ability to navigate tactical challenges effectively.

Fokker Landing Gear

Landing Gear, part of GKN Fokker Aerospace, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design, development, production, and assembly of complete landing gear systems, as well as the repair and overhaul of systems already in service. We work on some of the most renowned aircraft and helicopters — think of the Apache attack helicopter, F-35 Lightning II (JSF), Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, and the versatile NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, we ask the following:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (HBO level) in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • At least 5 years of relevant purchasing experience.
  • Experience with indirect spend procurement.
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Ability to build relationships with a supplier network and understanding of supplier processes.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and various software applications.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Key competencies: Analytical skills, Decisiveness, Customer focus, Environmental awareness, Pragmatic mindset, Stress resistance, and Organizational sensitivity.
  • Residence in the visinity of Papendrecht, NL.
