Technical Department Manager - Life Cycle Management - Image Guided Therapy

Are you someone who thrives on taking the initiative, solving problems, and driving results without waiting to be asked? As the Technical Department Manager of our LCM Engineering team at Philips Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Systems, you’ll be at the heart of keeping our innovations running smoothly across the globe. We’re looking for a strong leader who brings energy, ownership, and an entrepreneurial mindset to a role where no two days are the same.

Your role:

  • You lead a high-impact engineering department responsible for sustaining the performance, safety, and compliance of Philips’ global installed base of image-guided therapy systems. You take ownership and deliver results — even in ambiguity — to keep critical products running flawlessly.
  • You’ll manage a diverse, multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced R&D setting, working closely with internal and external partners. You collaborate with R&D, Procurement, Supplier Quality, Customer Services, Operations, and external suppliers, all while ensuring medical regulatory compliance (including IEC60601).
  • You will grow your influence across the business, drive improvements in product reliability, efficiency, and team capability, and nurture talent in an agile, regulated environment. This is a leadership role where proactive mindset, curiosity, and resilience are essential to success.

You're the right fit if:

  • You hold a Master’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g. physics, electrical, mechatronics, or systems engineering).
  • You have at least 10 years of engineering experience (including 5+ years in people leadership), ideally in the medical devices or another highly regulated industry.
  • You’re a self-starter who thrives on solving complex problems, managing cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement.
  • You bring strong stakeholder management, a helicopter view, and comfort navigating both strategic and hands-on operational challenges.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
