Are you an internationally-minded legal professional? Do you have a can-do mentality, can you push yourself and others forward and are you eager to contribute to The Social Hub’s ambitious growth plans? Make sure to check out this job opening!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

You won’t be working in an ordinary legal department. Because of our rapid international expansion and ambitious growth plans, we’ve got more going on than just the day-to-day legal business you would expect from a real estate developer or a hotel operator. The TSH legal department is responsible for all legal and compliance affairs, including taking care of legal matters related to the acquisition and development of our new locations, obtaining and maintaining their financing, ensuring compliance and corporate housekeeping are on point but also facilitating the operational and commercial success of our hotels and our brand. That’s the part where you come in!

In Case You Don’t Know Who We Are (Ahem)…

Known for being the rule breakers in hospitality, TSH is a fun, creative and inspiring environment where everyone can work, stay, learn and play and most importantly – be themselves. As an employer we look, act and think like a hotel, but instead we offer a lot more. Think student accommodation, long and short stay options, gyms, talks, events, rooftop bar and eat & drink escapes as well as community and coworking spaces. Located in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, France and Spain with several new openings on the way, this hybrid hospitality concept may take root in the heart of Europe, but our plans are set for going global.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the primary legal point of contact for all hotel operations across Europe, especially for the Hotel Managers, Regional Directors, and all Heads of Operational departments (e.g. Procurement, Digital & Technology, Marketing, Sales, Reservations)
  • Regularly update the Chief Operations Officer on all legal matters involving Operations
  • Provide pragmatic, risk-based legal advice that enables the business to move forward, translating legal complexity into practical, actionable guidance
  • Support the Operational departments by drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements (e.g. supplier, framework, MSA, SLA and SOW agreements), including template updates and external counsel coordination
  • Assist the Sales teams of TSH, by providing support on pan-European contract negotiation (e.g. OTA, hotel partner, meeting & events agreements and all accompanying terms and conditions)
  • Lead the roll-out of our Contract Life Cycle Management tool across the entire organization and oversee key legal tools & software, ensuring effective adoption and compliance
  • Handle and coordinate legal incidents, claims, disputes, and complaints across hotel operations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Oversee and ensure legal compliance of hotel operations, including license and permit checks, inspection readiness, and implementation of new regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
  • Advise the HR team with operational employment matters
  • Collaborate with TSH Paralegals and Junior Legal Counsel and help guide their work where they support you in your role
  • Continuously improve internal legal operations by creating and refining Standard Operating Procedures, templates and legal workflows
  • Work with and manage international external counsel where needed, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of legal advice
  • Report directly to the General Counsel

Who You Are

  • You have a Master's law degree
  • You have a minimum of 6 years relevant legal experience, either as a lawyer or as in-house counsel in an international setting (hospitality-related industry would be icing on the cake)
  • You have strong skills in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements. Experience with IT agreements is a big plus
  • You’re stress-resistant. You’re able to maintain control and keep an overview of complex projects within tight deadlines but are also able to push back when necessary
  • You have the ability to work quickly, practically, decisively, and independently. You are proactive and have a hands-on and can-do attitude. You are capable of adapting to a fast-paced environment
  • You have solid legal knowledge but can translate it into pragmatic solutions
  • You have excellent spoken and written (business) Dutch and English skills. German, Spanish, French, Portuguese or Italian language skills are a nice extra
  • You have strong communication skills. You can manage internal and external stakeholders whilst keeping cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity in mind
  • You are willing to meet and work together with the local hotel teams
  • You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands and willing to work multiple days per week at the Amsterdam office

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to work at a dynamic, multi-national company. Not just another hotel - we’re a game changing innovator, challenging every convention and defining the future
  • The opportunity to work for a Certified B Corp® company that balances profit with positive impact, collaborating with organizations like Movement on the Ground and the TSH Talent Foundation to create meaningful change
  • The chance to learn and grow in your role with the potential for future growth
  • Awesome discounts in all our properties in Europe and not just for you, but also for your friends and family!
  • A wonderful workplace to call home, full of events, fun colleagues and all the other amazing salary/benefits stuff

Who you are, is how we want you to be. To us, hybrid hospitality goes across the board, from how we service our guests to how we represent ourselves. Here, everyone belongs, and we welcome people no matter their nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion or culture. Your authenticity keeps our team diverse. Come as you are.

The Social Hub is much more than a hotel. In our boundary-blurring spaces we bring together a new generation of bold change-makers to connect, learn, stay, work, and play.
