Cloud-Native Developer Innovation at Philips

Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Cloud-Native Developer with Kubernetes expertise to join our department. Working in a small and skilled multidisciplinary innovation team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, containerized applications and infrastructure using Kubernetes and modern cloud-native technologies. You’ll play a pivotal role in enabling meaningful innovations that advance minimally invasive clinical procedures, helping shape the future of clinical interventions and improve patients’ lives.

Your role:

  • Empower the innovation team to explore and develop cloud-native, containerized concepts and prototypes through hands-on full-stack software development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with innovation engineers, UI/UX designers, clinical scientists, marketers, and business developers to refine and validate concepts.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters throughout their lifecycle, including provisioning, upgrades, scaling, and maintenance.
  • Deliver impact by contributing to meaningful innovations, intellectual property, and solution transfers that support Philips’ growth and mission.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.

Work Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience with Bachelor's in areas such as Software Development, Software Design and Architecture, Testing and Quality Assurance or equivalent OR no prior experience required with Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have 2+ years of experience managing Kubernetes clusters in a production environment (e.g., AWS, OpenStack)
  • You bring 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing web-based software solutions, combining back-end (e.g., C++, C#, Python, REST APIs) and front-end technologies (modern JS frameworks, React) - preferably in a healthcare context.
  • You are a well-rounded developer with an innovator’s mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • You are both a team player and able to work independently.
