Pathology Assistant

Welcome to our team
Our Animal Research Department is responsible for conducting animal studies in Boxmeer and the surrounding area for Research & Development (R&D) and Quality Control (QC) according to the 3R principles (Replace, Reduce, Refine). The pathology team is part of the Animal Research Department and currently consists of two pathology assistants and one pathologist.

About the role
As a Pathology Assistant at our veterinary pharmaceutical company in Boxmeer, you are a crucial link in our Animal Research Department. You are responsible for managing the dissection rooms and organizing and performing dissections in animal studies, in accordance with relevant legislation and our Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) quality system. You play an important role in the development of vaccines that improve animal health and public health.

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Conduct thorough macroscopic assessments and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
  • Manage and maintain technical installations and equipment within the dissection rooms.
  • Collaborate professionally with pathologists, veterinarians, animal technicians, and diverse R&D project teams.
  • Adhere strictly to the GLP quality system and all relevant guidelines.
  • Oversee hygiene and safety standards in and around the dissection rooms.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and animal welfare practices.

Your profile

  • Bachelor degree; for example HAS, Animal Science, or HLO.
  • Completion of training as a Biotechnology Technician (Art. 13f2b) is required.
  • Experience in a comparable role is a preference.
  • Strong affinity for Research & Development activities.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a service-oriented approach.
  • Enjoys producing precise and effective reports.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, Dutch language skills are highly preferred.
  • Demonstrates an innovative mindset.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and eager to take on new challenges.
