Business OPEX Controller and Financial analysis chez IDEXX

IDEXX FP&A team are looking for a financial analyst to support our operating expense analysis. In this role, you will interact with business leaders, business partners and peers in order to understand the financial results, make sure operating expenses are in line with expectations and support future budgeting/forecasting exercises.

In This Role

IDEXX Europe’s Companion Animal Group division (CAG) is fast-growing and is continuously making significant investments.

You will be responsible for Business Partnering, Forecasting, Results Controlling & Reporting, and Process Change relating to Operational Expenditure.

  • You will act as the Finance Business Partner and ‘sounding board’ to several major functional Business Leaders, influencing those leaders’ financial decisions.
  • You will ensure that OpEx forecasts are of the right quality to facilitate decision-making and use the forecasts to guide general management on the most appropriate investment plans.
  • You will be responsible for results controlling and management reporting of Functional OpEx results and standardize OpEx reporting across CAG Europe and global sector development. You will drive OpEx process change and improvement through standardization, simplification and streamlining.

What you will need to succeed

  • Work cross-functionally throughout the organization, serving as the primary financial contact if applicable.
  • The ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment.
  • Special project support where often the team member is the primary financial contact.
  • Identify and implement processes to monitor both financial and non-financial measures.
  • Work with multiple systems including SAP, Workday, SAP BPC and Business Objects for use in information retrieval and analyses.
  • Identify and implement processes and improvements in planning, analysis and reporting. This includes leveraging information technology to automate, streamline, and integrate processes.
  • Ability and proven experience in the automation of financial processes. Expertise in VBA/VBS programming language, UI Path or Power Automate is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related business concentration.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Accounting experience will be an important advantage
  • Ability to present complex business ideas – including proper financial modelling and ability to explain to non-finance folks.
  • Ability to work independently but in the same time as part of a team with a joined goal.
  • Solid MS Office skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • SAP BPC and business objects experience preferred
