Your Role

As Director of Regional IT Operations – EMEA & APAC, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the delivery of IT services across both regions. You will manage a team consisting of the Manager IT Operations APAC (based in Thailand) and Manager IT Operations EMEA (based in The Netherlands)—and indirectly lead their teams of Support Specialists, Technical Engineers, and you will directly lead a team of 7 Application Consultants (a total team size of approx. 19 FTE). You report to the SVP IT, who is also based in The Netherlands.

This role is based at our Gorinchem office, with the flexibility to occasionally work from our Amsterdam office and one day per week from home.

You will ensure efficient and effective IT operations in the areas of application support, end-user support, and local network infrastructure. You will also collaborate with global IT leadership and cross-functional business stakeholders to align regional services with global IT strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Team & Leadership

  • Lead and develop a regional team of ~19 IT in EMEA and APAC.
  • Manage performance, development, and collaboration across geographically distributed teams.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Application Support

  • Oversee support and performance of business-critical applications.
  • Ensure high system availability and rapid issue resolution.
  • Continuously optimize application support processes.

End-User Support

  • Ensure effective support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Manage SLAs and user satisfaction across both regions.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and self-service options.

Local Network Operations

  • Oversee stability, performance, and security of local IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with network specialists and vendors on upgrades and issue resolution.
  • Enforce network security policies and best practices.

Service & Vendor Management

  • Define, track, and improve SLAs and KPIs for IT operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance reviews.
  • Drive cost-effective and high-quality external service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in IT service management or IT operations.
  • Proven leadership of distributed teams in an international, multi-site environment.
  • Expertise in ITIL and service management frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of application and infrastructure operations.
  • Solid vendor and stakeholder management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; other languages are a plus.
