Industrial Engineering Internship: Service Procedure Improvements

Background information

The sector Customer Support (CS) is responsible for the maintenance, repair and continuous improvement of ASML systems at customer locations and supporting the customers in the use of these systems in their production process. CS Central enables effective support of the customer by providing technical knowledge and process support to the field offices.

Your assignment

Some procedures in our service mix will receive more comments than other procedures, giving an indication in complexity and quality. Gathering procedure feedback data in a dashboard will provide us with a tool to prioritize and gain insight in procedure evolvement, especially during the introduction of a new machine type and new service mix for our customers.

The goal of this internship is to:

  • Prioritize procedure improvement after NPI Phase
  • Identifying procedural bottlenecks
  • Define a feedback loop from improvement to development
  • Define a feedback loop for local training evolvement
  • Maturing the procedure for high-volume phase

Your profile

To be a match for this internship, you:

  • Are a bachelor/HBO or master student in Industrial Engineering, Business Management or something related;
  • Have an affinity with service processes and procedures;
  • Are communicative and proactive with a creative mindset;
  • Have good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

This is a bachelor/HBO internship or thesis or a master internship for 4-5 days a week (3 days on-site) with a duration of a minimum 3-6 months. The start date is as of September 2025 onwards.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you’re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
