Software engineering internship: diagnostics processing and visualization

Introduction

In ASML Extreme Ultra Violet (EUV) Dose control group, we build and maintain hardware and software components which controls EUV power reaching the wafer. To control EUV power, we rely on numerous sensors and subsystems each producing large volumes of diagnostic data, which is invaluable during issue analysis. To improve diagnostic and analysis effectivity, we need to expand on tooling that interprets, visualizes and compare different measurement and diagnostic data sets.

Your assignment

This internship project focuses on expanding and optimizing data processing, storage and visualization of Dose Control diagnostic data and ensuring that stakeholder requirements are met. The project aims to introduce an effective solution for diagnostics and data analysis due to tighter machine specifications. The engineering process will be followed by gathering and prioritization of requirements and converting the requirements into a design and implementation. Execution takes place by an iterative agile approach, working together with software engineers and domain experts with a physics background.

Your profile

To be a great match for this internship you:

  • Are a (HBO) bachelor student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a similar field.
  • Are proficient in programming Python.
  • Preferably are able to read C/C++ code; some experience with databases/SQL is helpful.
  • Are proactive, curious and good in collaboration.
  • Have strong communication skills and are fluent in English (verbal and written) to discuss requirements and design with stakeholders (also stakeholders without a software background)

This is a (HBO) bachelor internship for a minimum of 6 months, for 4 to 5 days per week (at least 3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is September 2025.

Other requirements you need to meet

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
