We provide technology options for innovations in the area of health and well-being, as well as new developments for consumer applications. Your role:

  • Creating value and impact by delivering meaningful innovations, and standards contributions that promote Philips’ growth.
  • Representing Philips in external standardization bodies.

  • Excellent understanding of recent developments in the Wireless Connectivity domain, detailed protocol knowledge of wireless standards (preferably 4G/5G or IEEE/Wi-Fi).
  • Affinity with the lower layers of the OSI stack (e.g. PHY/MAC) and simulation environments (such as MatLab) is an advantage.
  • Passion for working on next generation connectivity technologies, for tackling technical and collaborative challenges, for pro-actively proposing new ideas and solutions, and for keeping up with the latest technological developments.
  • Ability to work in a global team across multiple time zones, to collaborate and negotiate with other companies, to clearly articulate and explain your ideas, to be able to define technical and business considerations behind recommended solutions, and to structure your work (enabling you e.g. to focus on the most important aspects in an ocean of information).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English and presentation skills, able to operate at all levels both internally and externally (minimum C1 level).
  • Willingness to travel and actively engage in standardization meetings, such as 3GPP and IEEE.
  • Hands-on experience with connectivity hardware/software and IoT hardware/software is an advantage.
  • Experience in dealing with patents is a plus.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This role is an office role.
