🔍 About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer - Machine learning Engineer to contribute to the development of intelligent food inspection systems. You will work on deploying deep learning models for real-time image analysis using embedded platforms like NVIDIA Jetson.

You’ll work closely with all other team members within Innovation, like development Engineers, service technicians and food technologists.

Your work will directly impact food quality and safety across the industry.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize deep learning models for object detection and segmentation.
  • Integrate AI models into embedded systems using the NVIDIA Jetson platform.
  • Optimize inference performance using TensorRT and Docker-based deployment pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust, scalable vision solutions.
  • Implement and maintain computer vision pipelines using OpenCV and other libraries.

  • Hold a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python and C++.
  • Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker for development and deployment.
  • Deep Learning Frameworks: Experience with common architectures like YOLO and segmentation models. Demonstrates curiosity for emerging techniques such as diffusion networks, instance segmentation, and VAE’s.
  • Computer Vision: Solid understanding of OpenCV and image processing techniques.
  • Operating Systems: Strong experience with Linux environments.
  • You are proficient in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • You are willing to travel 20-30% of the time.

🌟 Nice to Have

  • Background in food technology or industrial automation.
  • Embedded Systems: Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms (e.g., Xavier, Orin).
  • Deep Learning: Proficient in using TensorFlow or PyTorch for developing and deploying models.

Skilled in programming industrial machines, including both user interface development and PLC control systems.
