We work with governments, industries, SMEs, and developers to enable local renewable energy generation, smart consumption, and flexible energy deployment. Our proprietary Energy Management Software (EMS) optimizes asset operations and connects energy use to market dynamics.

About Emmett Green Consultancy

Emmett Green Consultancy is the advisory branch of Emmett Green located in Amsterdam. We focus on strategic decarbonization projects, renewable and flexible generation to support companies navigate the complexities of the energy transition. Our work combines technical analysis with economic feasibility and market strategies. We deliver practical solutions like flexibility strategies, private grids, and energy hubs, and support clients with net congestion challenges using real-world data and advanced software tools. Furthermore, we support companies with the implementation of these energy solutions.

The Internship

This internship combines two main activities:

  1. Developing AI Solutions for Emmett Green Consultancy
    • Automating energy analysis to draw faster conclusions on decarbonization, flexibility potential, economic feasibility, CO₂ reduction, and more.
    • Designing structured databases to automate the generation of reports, offers, and analyses.
    • Applying Machine Learning to consumption and production profiles to improve decision-making in sustainable energy assets.
    • Integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) for efficient processing of market reports, subsidies and policy documents, and other text-heavy sources.
    • Developing data-driven dashboards and internal tools to enhance our consultancy efficiency and scalability.
  2. Supporting Consultancy Projects
    • Feasibility studies for decarbonization options, such as solar parks, battery storage, or heat pumps.
    • Assisting companies facing grid congestion by offering flexibility solutions.
    • Developing and substantiating business cases for energy hubs and private grids.
    • Supporting subsidy applications and strategic energy policy plans.

Requirements

  • You are pursuing a technical or science university degree (e.g., Energy Science, Mathematics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Sustainable Energy Technology, or related fields).
  • You have a strong interest in the energy transition and sustainability.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python is a plus.
  • Affinity with Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning or Large Language Models) is a plus, but not required.
  • You are analytical, proactive, and practically oriented.

What We Offer

A hands-on, diverse 5-month internship (starting date and duration to be discussed) where you will be fully integrated into our team. You will have real responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute your own ideas. The internship compensation is €500 gross per month. Our offices are located in Amsterdam and Delft, and we offer a hybrid work environment.
