Internship: AI Applications within Finance

About us

Damen Global Support is part of the Damen Shipyards Group, offering centralized services to support global operations. The Finance Shared Service Center (FSSC) in Gorinchem includes 50 team members across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, and Information & Reporting.

We are currently exploring Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in finance, particularly using tools like Microsoft Copilot, and are seeking a motivated intern to support this initiative.

The role

As an intern, you will explore, develop, and implement AI-driven solutions to optimize financial processes. This includes identifying opportunities, enhancing data analysis, and supporting the adoption of AI tools in daily operations. You’ll work closely with finance and IT professionals and contribute to change management efforts.

Key accountabilities

• Analyze financial workflows to identify AI integration opportunities.
• Develop and test use cases with Microsoft Copilot and other tools.
• Support change management efforts by assisting in training sessions, gathering user feedback, and promoting adoption of AI tools among FSSC staff.
• Define and monitor the impact of AI implementations.
• Collaborate with finance and IT teams on AI solutions

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s (graduation) student in Finance & Control, Business Administration or a related study.
• Affinity with AI, data analysis, and digital transformation.
• Experience with Microsoft 365; familiarity with Microsoft Copilot is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in English; Dutch is a plus but not mandatory.
