Internship- AI Product Intern at Philips

About the Opportunity

Help us put AI to work inside Philips. You’ll join the dedicated AI team within Enterprise Informatics, creating solutions that automate or augment our internal processes—from finance to supply‑chain—so teammates can focus on high‑value, human‑centric tasks. You’ll partner closely with our AI Product Manager, contribute to ongoing initiatives across multiple domains, and even lead a focused mini‑initiative of your own.

Responsibilities:

  • Map & Analyse Internal Workflows - research existing Philips processes to spot inefficiencies and rank opportunities for AI.
  • Backlog & User Story Ownership - maintain product backlogs, write crisp user stories, and keep documentation current in lock step with the AI Product Manager.
  • Prototype & Evaluate AI Agents - build quick experiments (LLM prompts, LangChain flows, RAG pipelines, etc.) and measure their operational impact.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve - track emerging AI methods, tools, and trends that could accelerate internal adoption.
  • Show & Tell - present insights, demos, and lessons learned to stakeholders across HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and more.
  • Run a Mini Initiative - own a scoped AI proof of value from discovery through MVP for one internal domain.

What do you bring:

  • Master's student in Engineering, Business Administration, or anything related to AI.
  • Clear communicator who enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self starter with a structured, outcome driven mindset.
  • Passion for product management, business operations, and real world AI.

Preferred:

  • Previous internship/project experience in AI development or product work.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering or LLM-based tool development.
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts (NLP, LLMs, agentic workflows, etc.).

What You'll Gain:

  • Inside look at enterprise scale AI product development.
  • Mentorship from seasoned AI product leaders and engineers.
  • Opportunity to deliver tangible impact by removing "busy work" for thousands of colleagues.
  • Ownership of a visible AI mini initiative.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.
  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300 net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255 net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the landlord, and your normal home-work travel distance needs to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) needs to be more than 1.5 hours.
  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192 net.
  • Paid holidays per internship term.
  • The opportunity to buy Philips equipment at our Philips shop.
