What you’ll do

As a Junior Platform Engineer, you will further develop and maintain our Mission Critical hybrid platform in collaboration with our third-party partners and support and enable the teams using the platform. You will design and implement self-service capabilities for our teams, as well as improve the platform from the perspectives of security, resilience and observability. You will be mentored by our senior engineers to help you develop your skills further.

You are an independent problem-solver. You learn quickly and are keen to develop further in the fields of SRE / Platform Engineering. You work towards solving problems in a structured way and involve others for help when necessary. You care about developer experience and aim to help out where possible, under the guidance of our senior engineers.

• Eagerness to learn from experienced platform engineers
• Some experience in an engineering field within IT and an interest to become a fully-fledged Platform Engineer.
• Some basic scripting knowledge in Python or Bash
• Some experience with infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform
• Basic knowledge of cloud concepts, containers and CI/CD
• Basic knowledge of containers
• Proven experience with Azure DevOps, Kubernetes (we primarily use OpenShift), Terraform and GitOps (we use ArgoCD)
• Based in the Netherlands and fluent in English

Bonus points for

• Practical, hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes and GitOps
• Practical, hands-on experience with MongoDB
• Practical experience implementing observability (alerts, dashboard etc)
• Operational experience running cloud or hybrid infrastructure
• Knowledge of the energy sector

You’ll be responsible for

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain secure, resilient cloud infrastructure
• Creation of building blocks (CI/CD, IaC) for use by application teams
• Ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability of solutions
• Defining and maintaining basic SLOs and SLIs, contributing to incident analysis to reduce MTTR
• Ensuring full observability of our platform and the applications running on it
• Working with our third party partners to ensure a reliable, usable platform
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and product managers
• Stay current with modern development practices

This is where you’ll work

You’ll join the Trade Tech Platform Engineering, contributing to run the platforms that host some of Eneco’s most critical applications and helping define how digital platforms shape Eneco’s sustainable future.

What we have to offer

Gross annual salary between €80.000 and €115.000
