Internship – Water & Energy Reduction Plan Consolidation at HEINEKEN

Date: 11 Jun 2025

Company: HEINEKEN

Internship – Water & Energy reduction plan consolidation

“Improving and developing water and energy improvement plans to support the sustainability goals of the company gives me lots of energy and lets me enjoy my internship journey.”

Colleague intern

The internship

HEINEKEN is committed to becoming net-zero carbon by 2030 (Scope 1 & 2) and significantly reducing water usage. To achieve these ambitious goals, we rely on detailed benchmarking and the continuous improvement of utilities (Energy & Water) good practices, and the materialization of the plans into a 1-3 year plan supporting the breweries to close the gap vs targets. During this internship, you will support the global rollout and enhancement of the brewery’s Energy & Water improvement plans. Your work will contribute to Heineken’s environmental goals by helping breweries structure, align, and execute their energy and water-saving initiatives.

In this internship, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate the consolidation and review of energy and water waterfall plans across all regions.
  • Analyze the quality and consistency of brewery plans and visualize their impact through dashboards and performance insights.
  • Identify high-impact initiatives from top-performing sites and support the prioritization of key projects per region.
  • Strengthen the link between good practices programs and brewery-level improvement plans.
  • Support Heineken Operating Companies worldwide in deploying waterfall methodologies across relevant sites.
  • Participate in and help facilitate masterclasses to train breweries on plan development and implementation.

During your internship, you will get the opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as a company, also outside your department. We give you trust and freedom, so you can work like a real entrepreneur. We like to bring the outside world inside, and therefore, we embrace new, fresh ideas with enthusiasm. Of course, always with the guidance that is right for you.
