About AIHR

Founded in 2016 with the mission to future-proof HR, the Academy to Innovate HR (AIHR) has become the world’s market leader in online training for human resources (HR) professionals. We have a global customer base spread across 140+ countries, amongst which companies like Unilever, Reckitt, Goldman Sachs, Philips, Deloitte, Nike, Heineken, and UBS. It is our goal to continuously upskill and empower 1,000,000 HR Professionals.

We are an international team of 90+ people, driven by excellence, innovation, and a hunger to grow in everything we do. As such, we strive to provide the world’s best courses and excellent support to our customers while continuously optimizing every aspect of our work. With over 30 nationalities, our team is diverse, yet we all share a few traits: we're friendly, enthusiastic, and great team players.

Being a fast-growing company, working at AIHR means taking on a lot of responsibility and getting countless opportunities to develop yourself in new areas and potential to craft your own role.

Role and responsibilities

In the role of a Junior Community Specialist, you'll be working closely with the Community Team to connect, interact with and provide the best possible experience for our members every day. This involves answering questions and communicating with members directly through direct messages, emails and video calls, as well as through general posts, and community forums. You'll also be involved in organizing and hosting webinars, platform tours, and community meetups!

An important part of the role is engaging with members who want to know more about our products and services, during which you’ll be supporting them with the use of our in-house tools, guides, and processes to tailor a learning plan that fits their specific needs.

On a typical day

You start your Monday morning after you get into the office around 9am and sit down with a cup of coffee to start scanning through the community activity in your inbox. After the weekend, there is a larger volume to work through than usual, so you go through and separate those that you can attend to quickly from those that will require some follow-up before responding at a later point.

It is 11 am, and you’ve managed to make a lot of progress. You take note of a couple of interactions that you wanted to confirm points on before replying and head into your catch-up with Neal, the Head of Customer Experience. Before doing so, however, you connect with the external presenter for an upcoming webinar to ensure that their presentation is ready and that they are prepared for your upcoming webinar on Thursday.

In your catch-up with Neal, you run some questions by him and get input on the current community calendar and events. You get the confirmation you need, and with the help of Marna, one of our HR Subject Matter Experts, you manage to respond to all outstanding questions from our members. During your review of the day and the upcoming week with Neal, you lay out, plan, and discuss tasks and priorities. Before you know it, it is time for lunch! You join the rest of the department and head over to enjoy some delicious food prepared by our in-house Chef, Rik.

After lunch, you prepare for the Platform Tour that you will run, walking members through our platform as well as showing them how to make the most of their experience with AIHR. These are group sessions where both newly enrolled individuals, as well as members of a company licence can come to see what the platform has to offer, and engage with you to ask any questions they have to be set up for success.

Your tour with the members was a great success, and they were thrilled about the platform features you walked them through, as well as your advice on how to make the most of their development. To end the day, you gather data around the results of last week’s community activity and event attendance, before jumping into a brainstorming session with Neal, Serin, and the video editing team, where you discuss some ideas on how to improve future live events.

As you wrap up for the day, you get pulled into a conversation with your team on this Friday’s event, which, being the first Friday of the month, is when AIHR has its company-wide event. After hearing about each department's achievements of the past month, everyone is looking forward to getting together and celebrating our shared success during an optional after-hours social and drinks.
