As a Business Continuity Management (BCM) Expert at the Risk Business Assurance & Security (RBA&S) department of ASML, you play a pivotal role in safeguarding our operational resilience. Your mission is to build and maintain a strong and resilient business continuity management system that supports the organization’s goals and objectives, builds stakeholder trust, and ensures business continuity in the context of a continuously evolving threat landscape.

Role and responsibilities

You bring deep expertise in risk and continuity management, and use this expertise to effectively build and further mature ASML’s BCM system. You are positioned within ASML’s Risk, Business Assurance, and Security (RBA&S) department, and work with your RBA&S colleagues and the ASML business sectors to effectively organize for business continuity.

You play a pivotal role in ensuring ASML’s BCM functions and requirements are embedded throughout the organization. You do so by for instance conducting risk and business impact assessments, leading complex BCM programs and initiatives, guiding risk-based decision making, and educating and training colleagues. By designing, implementing, and improving the overall BCM framework, you help ensure ASML can respond effectively and efficiently to disruptions.

You will work in multidisciplinary teams of risk and continuity experts to support and strengthen ASML’s business continuity and crisis management practices. This role combines deep expertise in risk and business continuity (hard skills) with strong interpersonal capabilities (soft skills), including strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization.

  • Provide global expertise and insights which enables ASML to execute Business Continuity Management (BCM) effectively and efficiently.
  • Use data-driven insights, risk assessments, and business impact analyses, to identify and evaluate key risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Play a leading role on a limited number of assignments and in alignment with stakeholders.
  • Deploy expert knowledge to review the day-to-day activities within the business area, across functional areas and their relationships and provides recommendations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business managers, translating risk and continuity insights into actionable plans or recommendations.
  • Support sector management by challenging risk owners and verifying the effectiveness of controls.
  • Develop and monitor business continuity policies and frameworks to align with business goals.
  • Guide strategic planning and capability-building initiatives in the continuity space.

Education and experience

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as business economics, risk management, technology, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in a role with focus on risk or business continuity management, preferably in a large and complex organization.
  • Ability to work independently and manage large, complex tasks, programs, or projects.
  • Experience as a project or program manager in high-complexity environments is preferred.
  • A deep understanding of business continuity challenges and a proven ability to advise, coach, and collaborate effectively.
  • Understanding of ISO 22301 and other industry-specific resilience requirements.
  • Certification in Business Continuity Management (e.g., CBCI) is preferred.
