We are looking for an eager Video on Demand Cloud Engineer to join our “Stream Team” to work on the full in-house managed video workflow. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading theatrical company, Pathé, and contribute to the growth of our Video on Demand platform. The Pathé Home platform has been completely rebuilt from scratch using modern software technology and inspired by 10+ years of experience & knowledge in the Video on Demand sector.

Technical Proficiency: You will be working with AWS (Lambda, Step Function, DynamoDB, ECS/Fargate, S3, CloudFront), TypeScript, Serverless Framework / AWS CDK, TypeScript, Git, Github (Ci/Cd). Any previous experience or affinity with this technology is preferred, but personal growth is expected part for this job position.

The Role

As a Video Cloud Engineer, you will:

• Working Within the Streaming Video Team: Work closely together with the Head of Video and collaborate with the platform, traffic, and application development teams.
• Engage in AWS Cloud: Utilize AWS CDK, Serverless Framework, TypeScript, and cutting-edge AWS technologies.
• Handle Video Operations: Manage video operations, ensure operational excellence, and work alongside the traffic team for timely delivery of video assets.
• Develop Video Solutions: Contribute to the in-house video archive, transcoding and packaging pipeline, and video delivery CDN.
• Drive R&D: Engage in research and development to enhance VOD offerings.
• Learn: Drive your knowledge and improve skills on delivering Video on Demand at scale.

Responsibilities

• Oversee video operations and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate with the traffic team for successful and timely video asset delivery.
• Work on the development and maintenance of the video archive, transcoding & packaging pipeline, delivery CDN and quality of experience (QoE) solutions.
• Ensure optimal streaming performance & customer experience.
• Focus on scalability as Pathé Home expands to multiple territories.
