You and your role

You will be responsible for translating high-level strategies into actionable solutions, requiring a mix of strategic thinking, accountability, and flexibility to adapt to shifting business needs and regulatory landscapes.

You will be part of the Area Leadership Team (ALT) of the CDD Detection area together with the Area Lead and the Senior Tech Lead, where you combine your architecture leadership with overall vision on CDD and FEC. You collaborate in the ALT on resource planning, and help prioritize the work in the area of approximately 160 people.

Your leadership qualities will be essential, not only to steer your own deliverables but also to influence stakeholders and guide teams across FEC and the wider bank. You will take ownership of your work, manage deliverables, and ensure the alignment of business goals with technical solutions.

Practical Examples

As a business architect in the Financial & Economic Crime (FEC) with a focus on the Customer Due Diligence / KYC domain, you will contribute directly to the (future) design of systems and processes that help prevent, detect, investigate and report financial and / or economic crime.

Your work will play a crucial role in FEC Customer Due Diligence (CDD/KYC) and the platforms we use within FEC. Supporting customer risk management and investigations concerning money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and other financial and economic crimes.

You will work alongside an experienced team, including other business and solution architects, developing solutions that bridge business needs with data, AI and innovative technological capabilities. With your peer FEC business architects, you will help design and improve the business architecture that supports the critical work of CDD within FEC, while also enhancing your own skills and expertise.

Top responsibilities

  • CDD Detection Architecture Design and getting changes into motion:
    The CDD Detection Area is going through fundamental renewal, including new architecture concepts, new detection model, technology change, and cloud transition. This includes reskilling of our staff, and keeping multiple vendors aligned. As architect and a member of the ALT, you guide this.
  • Drive Tribe Architecture with the business architect team:
    Together with FEC business and process Architects, you develop and manage business architecture to drive improvements in the FEC overall architecture. As the whole FEC Tech Tribe moves forward in architecture modernization, you contribute as thought leader on Platformization and other concepts that future-proof our architecture.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders and autonomous leadership:
    Engage directly with C-level stakeholders and their delegates, taking leadership and ownership over architecture related deliverables. You will collaborate closely with area architects to ensure alignment but will have the flexibility and autonomy to drive your own initiatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
    Ensure all architecture and platform enhancements comply with WWFT, Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing, and other financial & economic crime regulations. You will take ownership of ensuring that these solutions are not only compliant but also future-proofed to adapt to regulatory changes.

You and your talent

We are looking for an architecture leader and accountable business architect with a passion for driving strategic change.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business architecture, business analysis, or a similar role, ideally within the financial services industry.
  • Preferred experience in extensive use of data and models.
  • Leadership and Influence: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders across various teams. This includes strong story telling skills and the ability to think and challenge on multiple strategic levels.
  • Conceptual Thinking: A strong conceptual thinker, capable of translating high-level strategies into practical solutions.
