The Role

Join our team at Peddler as an Junior Courier Operations Manager - the very first one of its kind at Peddler! You will be responsible for building relationships with our couriers and hub managers. You will be a bridge between HQ and Hub.

Responsibilities

  • Management and presence in the hub: Daily management of couriers at the hub locations, with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. Being physically present in the hubs to respond quickly to operational challenges.

  • Onboarding and guidance: Ensuring efficient onboarding of new couriers, with a practical and focused process to get them operational quickly. Continuously looking for ways to improve the onboarding process and training shift managers to implement these processes effectively.

  • Performance improvement: Monitoring courier performance and implementing pragmatic improvements based on daily operational findings.

  • Culture and communication: Ensuring pragmatic and open communication within the courier team, focused on a positive working atmosphere and productive collaboration.

  • Sickness absence management: Managing sickness absence practically, by quickly identifying the causes of absence and implementing concrete solutions.

  • Problem analysis and solutions: Quickly and practically analysing problems and implementing directly applicable solutions.

  • Stakeholder management: Maintaining contact with various stakeholders, such as the operations and planning team, shift & hub managers.

  • Personnel management: Acting as a point of contact for couriers and ensuring pragmatic, clear communication and collaboration within the team.

  • Reporting and feedback: Collecting performance data and quickly and practically sharing findings and areas for improvement with management.

Job Requirements

  • Language skills: Excellent command of both English and Dutch, both spoken and written.

  • Operational experience: Experience in a logistics or hub environment, preferably with managing a team.

  • Strong leadership skills: Able to motivate, guide and manage couriers pragmatically, both individually and in a team.

  • Hands-on mentality: Willing to be present on the shop floor and offer direct practical solutions for operational problems.

  • Pragmatic: Able to make quick and effective decisions and tackle operational challenges in a practical way.

  • Stakeholder management skills: Able to work effectively with teams such as operations and planning.

  • Collaboration: Experience in effectively collaborating with shift and hub managers to achieve common goals.

  • Flexibility: Willing to work outside standard office hours, depending on the operational situation.

  • Car required: Having your own car to be able to travel flexibly and quickly between locations if necessary (mileage allowance applies).
