Hunkemöller is searching for a Passionate, Highly Analytical and Commercial Merchandiser to be part of our dynamic Merchandising function. The key objective of this role is to lead the team to deliver Sales, Stock, Markdown & Profit plans for your department.

YOUR TASKS

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop & plan in-conjunction with Buying & Design a Product strategy for your Department/Product Group
  • Working with Buying & Design, build a balanced collection that is in line with our customer expectations & Brand Strategy
  • Responsible for the Financial planning of your Department/Product Group
  • Setting up Yearly, Half & Quarterly financial plans, in line with Budget & presenting these to Senior Management team.
  • Responsible for the Option, Width and Depth Plan, taking into account historical performance & company strategy
  • Ensuring that brought Size Ratios have taken into account differences across Countries, Product shapes & Market/Brand opportunities/Strategies
  • Responsible for planning & managing departmental stock levels, across all customer touch points, Own Stores, Own Ecommerce & Concession partners
  • Manage the OTB & In-season Trading, identifying risk & opportunities to minimize risk & maximize business sales & profitability
  • Working alongside, Branch Merchandising ensuring the Allocation plan takes into account Commercial activities & departmental strategies
  • Leading, coaching & managing direct report, ensuring overall team has clarity & direction on daily/weekly priorities
  • Working with your team, L&D & other business resources identify & action key development areas for your team members
  • Drive change within the business, proposing new ways of working/planning & seeing this through to implementation
  • Work on Business related projects as required

The role will include the following merchandising processes:

  • Wssi management – Planning & reforecasting, Weekly Sales, Stock, Intake, markdown & profitability
  • Managing slow sellers and recommending remedial actions such as Promotions, Re-pricing or Markdown
  • Providing the buying team with a Merchandise framework, Option plan, Average depth, Key Attribute targets i.e Colour, Price points &/or Fashionability level
  • Understanding sales/profit plan and the implications of current trading
  • Drive future performance by reviewing forward commitment based upon current performance take/recommend actions to maximize sales opportunities &/or minimize MD risk
  • Identifying and costing markdown recommendations to present & review with the Senior Management team
  • Run & analyze weekly Trading reports to inform trading decisions/actions, discussed during the Weekly Trading Meeting
  • Analyzing, reviewing & advising on clearance strategies to reduce the level of Terminal Stock

Our ideal candidate for this planner role:

  • Has at least 5 years’ proven merchandising experience within a fashion retailer
  • Has a strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Enjoys working collaboratively, as part of a team and building strong working relationships
  • Has knowledge in using Business analytical tool (SAP BW, MicroStrategy, Business Objectives), Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills and very good English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Is self-confident, fun, passionate about Retail and Merchandising
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic & fun environment
