Hunkemöller is looking for a Privacy Officer to support our legal department. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization’s privacy program. You will play an important role in ensuring that our data handling practices comply with relevant privacy laws and regulations and make sure the right documentation is in place. Overall, you will need to stay updated on evolving privacy laws and regulations and continuously improve privacy policies and practices in response to changing legal and organizational needs.

YOUR TASKS

Your responsibilities:

As a Privacy Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the protection of personal data across the organization. Your tasks will include:

  • Serving as the organization's privacy expert, advising internal stakeholders on all privacy-related matters and ensuring compliance with data protection laws across all company activities
  • Maintaining and improving the company’s privacy framework, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), e-Privacy Directive, and country-specific privacy laws such as AVG
  • Monitoring, analysing, and following up on privacy-related requests from internal departments, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Leading and conducting various impact assessments such as DPIAs, LIAs and TIAs to ensure privacy risks are identified and mitigated
  • Monitoring changes in privacy laws and regulations, updating company policies and procedures accordingly to maintain compliance
  • Working closely with the IT and Security departments to implement and enforce effective data protection measures
  • Delivering training and awareness programs to employees on data protection and privacy best practices and developing internal privacy guidelines and materials
  • Managing conflicting interests and priorities, ensuring a balanced approach to privacy concerns while aligning with business goals

About you:

  • You are passionate about privacy and data protection
  • You hold a relevant academic degree, such as a Master’s in Law or Information Security
  • You bring 3-5 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or compliance roles
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, proven knowledge for instance through a CIPP/E or CIPM certification is a plus
  • You are fluent in English, and Dutch and any additional languages is an advantage
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex privacy issues and develop practical, effective solutions
  • You excel in communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • You have proven experience managing projects and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • You handle change and uncertainty with flexibility, a proactive mindset, and a strong ability to adapt to new challenges
  • Familiarity with One Trust or similar privacy management tools is a plus.
