Intern Design Knits

WE ARE DENIM HEADS.

We love denim. Live and breathe it. It’s in our DNA. At G-STAR, we see no limit to what denim can do. We believe it can be a force of progress and innovation for both people and planet. How? By hiring the most creative, curious, and caring minds. People who think beyond fashion. Bringing big ideas to big challenges. Driven by possibility. Those who work hard, make mistakes, but always continue to grow. Denim is in our DNA, our people are our stitching. Join the denim heads making raw denim!

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment and welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of background, identity, or experience.

HERE'S WHAT WE'LL DO TOGETHER:

Just imagine – The non-denim department consists of a wide range of products. While staying true to our brand DNA, it is vital to introduce new silhouettes and interest to complement our jeans offer. We do this by implementing new colors, fabric, prints, and silhouettes seasonally.

YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As our new Intern Design Knits, you might help with:
  • Researching market trends online for fit/silhouette, fabric, color, and design direction.
  • Making boards/overviews for design presentations.
  • Conducting research in the G-STAR archive (consisting of 23,000 vintage garments) for specific garments or details.
  • Attending design meetings with your designer to learn about all aspects of the design process.
  • Making mock-ups of exciting design ideas, such as pockets, sleeves, hoods, etc., in the G-STAR Atelier.
  • Sketching ideas for new seasons and concepts.
  • Creating and updating tech-packs ready to be sent to factories in order for them to produce our designs.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • A positive attitude with a willingness to work hard as part of a team.
  • Flexibility with regards to the tasks you will be asked to perform.
  • A passion for knit design and a keenness to learn from your surroundings.
  • Knowing your way around Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (CLO 3D experience is welcome).
  • A creative and exploratory mind.
  • You have a high interest and willingness to explore AI in this field.
  • You are a student of a Bachelor/Master in Fashion Design or a related education.
  • You are available full-time (40hrs per week) for a period of 5 to 6 months starting asap.
  • You are enrolled at a university or college in the Netherlands or EU, during the whole length of the internship. Unfortunately, we cannot provide immigration support for internships at this time.
  • If you are a non-EU student in The Netherlands, you are in possession of a mandatory internship assignment.
  • You are already living in the Netherlands and are in the possession of a BSN, or in a process of getting one.

Finally, if you have a strong personality and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, we’d love to meet you!

HERE'S WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE:

In addition to €600 monthly allowance for your internship, working at G-STAR brings so many perks and exciting opportunities, we don’t know where to begin… How about:

  • An awesome and diverse team that collaborates to inspire,
  • A work environment that offers room for fun, inspiration, and innovation,
  • A clothing budget of €400 to buy the latest G-STAR items!
  • To keep up the greatness we also offer you a healthy, fresh, and delicious lunch in our HQ in Amsterdam,
  • If you don’t have an OV student travel card, we will cover your travel expenses,
  • You will also enjoy two paid days of leave per month!
