Description
Under the direct authority of the Director of Internal Services, you will be responsible for developing ESA’s Digital and Information Technology (IT) Strategy and for the management of the department in charge of its implementation. You will also be responsible for the provision of optimised ESA business and management system IT applications and services. Moreover, you will be expected to unlock the full potential offered by the pooling of IT resources, in particular for ESA’s space and ground system IT, in full collaboration with all ESA directorates. In this capacity, you will also have access to the Director General.

A master’s degree in engineering, data science or physical science with a strong IT focus is required.

People management experience is required, and international experience would be an asset, including outside your home country, as would experience in diverse functional areas relevant to ESA activities. Mobility is inherent to management functions and this position may be subject to rotation. Therefore, mobility opportunities may be offered to you as part of your career evolution at ESA, starting after approximately five years in this role.

Applicants must be eligible to acquire the security clearance by their national security administrations. During the recruitment process, the Agency may request applicants to undergo selection tests. Additionally, successful candidates will need to undergo basic screening before appointment, which will be conducted by an external background screening service, in compliance with the European Space Agency's security procedures.
