Senior Data Analytics Engineer WR Radar

Within Wholesale & Rural (W&R) we are seeking a passionate and ambitious senior Data Analytics Engineer.

As a vital member of our organization, you help us in the WR Radar team - within area W&R Client Banking & Data / Onboarding - to develop qualitative, structural and innovative solutions to deliver insight for improved decision-making and reporting. This enables everyone involved in W&R FEC activities to be in Control of FEC with high quality insights about our clients, processes and responsibilities. In our area we embrace newest technologies and is Databricks centric.

You and your job

As a Senior Data Analytics Engineer you will have the chance to develop further on your team building and soft skills by guiding and developing junior and medior engineers. You will be collaborating closely with other engineers, data translators, data scientists, and business stakeholders and at the forefront of ensuring high quality applications. But that is not all. You are doing all of this with focus on optimizing the process and keeping room for innovation and fun.

You are familiar with data architecture and data management, and able to link the different domains of data to leverage high-quality data delivery and build high quality applications.

You’ll bring in your senior experience to guide team members in building new data solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders and align with the vision of our WR Radar team within CB&D tribe. You gather and define requirements for the new to be build data solutions, anticipate on needs of the business and foresee potential risks. You take ownership over solutions, working on improvements to the solution and also feeding these learnings back to the team/organization. You are experienced with programming languages such as Python/Pyspark, and SQL.

You and your talent

• You share your experience and knowledge with the team on how to manage a reporting and data analytics solution effectively and translate business needs into adequate development requirements and data solutions.
• You guide and influence the team members towards the vision of the Area and bring an overarching vision and viewpoint on data products to ensure that we create valuable and sustainable information solutions. You define designs and patterns which team applies for development.
• You manage quality criteria set for development and lead and guide developers to adhere to.
• Building future proof data solutions utilizing the latest techniques and tools that keep us at the forefront as a bank. Intense collaboration with data engineers within and x-team and source data owners to maintain, simplify and enhance the existing application and to increase efficiency and data quality.
• Ensuring maintenance and development of the squad data products into future proof and compliant solutions.
• Time management: You are able to manage your time between ad hoc tasks and larger projects. You are familiar with prioritization in a scrum environment and are able to plan and deliver work effectively.
• System security and compliance: You are familiar with current security and compliance standards in the banking environment. The ability to assess if a solution not only delivers quality output, but also applies banking-level security standards through the process is a great plus.

Experience and qualification

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (pre), or related field;
• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience with Data Analytics within BI development /Data Engineering/Azure;
• Considerable experience with Azure tooling as Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Airflow, YAML etc.
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python and SQL
• Strong knowledge of data modelling (including historical data), data lakehouse and ETL processes
• Big data technologies such as Spark, Data Science affinity with relevant libraries in python.
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines is a plus.
• Communication in English and Dutch
