We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team and lead the technical aspects of our data architecture.
Position Overview: As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be the technical lead for our Finance Data solutions, responsible for expanding and optimizing our data architecture to support Allianz's accounting initiatives. You will collaborate closely with architects, BI analysts, IT experts, and data scientists to deliver seamless data solutions across the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of our data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for the Finance Data Hub, providing guidance and direction on data architecture and engineering best practices.
- Data Architecture Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize our data architecture to support various accounting initiatives, such as financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, BI analysts, IT experts, and data scientists, to deliver integrated data solutions that meet business needs.
- Data Integration and Automation: Utilize data automation tools like Wherescape or DBT to streamline data integration processes and improve data quality and consistency.
- Cloud Expertise: Leverage cloud technologies, particularly ADP and Snowflake, to enhance the scalability and performance of our data infrastructure.
- Data Vault Modeling: Implement data vault modeling techniques to ensure data accuracy, historical tracking, and auditability.
Examples of Accounting Initiatives:
- Financial Reporting Enhancement: Develop data pipelines to automate and improve the accuracy of financial reporting processes, enabling timely and accurate insights for decision-makers.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Optimization: Design and implement data solutions to enhance budgeting and forecasting accuracy, supporting strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure data solutions meet regulatory requirements, reducing risk and enhancing auditability.
Must-Have Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years’ of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on data architecture and optimization.
- Proficiency in data vault modeling and data automation tools such as Wherescape or DBT.
- Strong cloud knowledge, with experience in Azure and Snowflake (preferred).
- Solid understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data quality management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- You are allowed to work in the Netherlands or Belgium, by being a European Citizen or by having a workpermit.
