About this position

As a Consultant in Software & Systems Security at TNO, you’ll never be bored. You are the linchpin, the translator from innovation to impact, and a figurehead for the research group. Your field of work is broad, perfectly suiting your curiosity-driven mindset. You will contribute to cutting-edge research projects, provide strategic advice to ministries and boardrooms, and build your own network to attract new research assignments. What will be your role?

You have a vision for innovations in secure coding and application testing, and you are eager to promote this vision to bring our innovations into real-world application. With your broad perspective, you create new, creative connections across the field. Your strategic insight enables you to bring clarity to complex situations and to steer research efforts in the right direction.

Like all TNO colleagues, you are driven by content. With your expertise in software and systems security, you connect us with networks and innovations and explore the technological aspects of new developments in this field. You stay up to date with the latest trends in both academia and industry, and you know how to respond to them proactively.

As a figurehead for cybersecurity innovation, you will become a familiar face across various industry groups and organizations. Outside of TNO, you will participate in consortia, panels, and regularly give presentations on your subject matter. You will also act as a key link between the Cyber Security Technologies department and other research departments within TNO, collaborating on the cybersecurity challenges related to domains such as the energy transition, defense digitalization, and vehicle safety.

You will be part of the Cyber Security Technologies department, home to the top cybersecurity experts in the Netherlands. Your colleagues are a dynamic mix of junior, medior, and senior researchers. You can work from our headquarters near The Hague Central Station, the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, or our office at the Zernike Campus in Groningen. Additionally, you bring:

• A relevant degree, preferably at the university level, in fields such as (technical) mathematics, computer science, cybersecurity, or another related technical study.
• Several years of experience in securing software and systems.
• Knowledge of and experience with cybersecurity is a plus.
• A demonstrable network in product security is an advantage.
• Proven experience in organizing public and/or private collaborations.
• A driven personality, with intrinsic motivation to make the Netherlands safer through cybersecurity innovation.
• A good command of English, as you will also work with European partners.

We offer a gross monthly salary between € 4,500 and € 6,600 (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180).
