About the role:

You are leading a global team of experts who work together to ensure our brands is protected and promoted by ensuring a high level of product safety and compliance.

The impact you’ll make:

1. Global Regulatory Monitoring and Interpretation:

  • Monitor all relevant safety regulations and standards globally.
  • Interpret and apply these regulations to ensure compliance across all markets.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the EU Safety Commission and other international regulatory bodies.
  • Manage reporting to the Safety Commission as applicable.

2. Safety and Regulatory Protocol Development:

  • Create and implement comprehensive safety and regulatory protocols.
  • Ensure these protocols are up to date with the latest regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Drive new protocols based on consumer feedback of incidents.

3. Training and Deployment:

  • Train internal teams and stakeholders on safety and regulatory protocols.
  • Deploy these protocols effectively across all business units.
  • Assure timely implementation of safety and compliance measures.

4. Leadership and Representation:

  • Lead important turnaround projects in product compliance and market access on a global scale.
  • Act at the interface of finished goods suppliers, internal safety compliance teams, and market access authorities.
  • Represent the company at Council level in the European Industry association for Manufacturers of Household Appliances (APPLiA) and chair the Small Appliance division.
  • Help lead regulations in the industry through active participation in industry associations and regulatory bodies.

5. Product Safety and Compliance Management:

  • Lead the team responsible for ensuring all branded household appliances meet safety and compliance standards.
  • Act as the go-to person for any compliance and safety issues, providing leadership for resolution.
  • Monitor safety incidents in the market, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure products are market-ready and compliant on the first attempt.
  • Conduct product risk assessment, mitigation, and management activities to proactively address potential safety issues.

6. Strategic and Competitive Monitoring:

  • Monitor the competitive landscape to ensure initiatives and internal requirements align with consumer and user expectations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Well-connected in the regulatory environment.

7. Quality Management System Oversight:

  • Represent the company as the legal manufacturer within the certified Quality Management System.
  • Ensure that domestic appliances manufactured and placed on the market comply with this system.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

Education: Advanced degree in Engineering, Law, or a related field with a focus on safety and compliance. Master degree in a relevant domain.

Experience:

  • Solid experience in regulatory compliance, safety management, or a related field within the industry.
  • Proven competence in risk assessment, management, and mitigation.
  • Experience in reporting safety incidents and managing product recalls.
  • Experience in managing transformational projects.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership with project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Change management.
  • Deep understanding of global safety regulations and standards, particularly within the EU.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Well-connected within the industry and regulatory bodies.
