What are you going to do?

Are you that Product Owner who is completely at home in hardware, has an eye for people and feels like leading a group of multidisciplinary professionals to contribute to our common goal of ‘Improving life on the farm’? Then we are looking for you! 😊

As Product Owner of the FarmControl team, you will work on a broad and technically challenging product portfolio within the agricultural sector. You will contribute to both the development of new products and the optimisation and maintenance of existing solutions, within ID, Sorting, Milking, Feeding and Vision, among others. Besides innovative developments, you will also focus on product lifecycle management and continuous improvement of our existing solutions.

You will become part of our R&D department in which we embrace an agile mindset that allows us to be agile to respond adequately to relevant developments. This means we are constantly on the move, which also requires an agile mindset from our employees. The first challenge is to set up and shape this new team both in terms of team building and backlog organisation.

Your responsibilities

• Product vision and roadmap: Working with various stakeholders, including the solution owner and product specialist, you translate strategy into a clear product vision and roadmap and monitor progress.
• Prioritising: Prioritise initiatives and translate them into a clear backlog.
• Stakeholder management: Collecting relevant input from internal and external stakeholders, representing wishes in the roadmap.
• Product Lifecycle Management: Attention to Product Lifecycle Management and optimising existing products.
• Agile: Applying and promoting Agile thinking in product development and teamwork.

Your team

As Product Owner, you will join the FarmControl team, a newly established multidisciplinary team responsible for hardware-related products for FarmControl solutions within Nedap Livestock. These products are used worldwide, both through OEM partners and in stand-alone Nedap solutions. The team will consist of specialists in the field of hardware, firmware, mechanics and field testing. Together, you will work on future-proof technology that helps farmers to be more successful in their work.

You will also be part of the Product Owner discipline team, which consists of other Product Owners within Livestock. The aim of this discipline team is to inform and inspire each other about cross-team topics, the work within your own team, challenges within the field, but also about training courses and events that could be interesting for our Product Owner discipline.

Required experience and skills

As Product Owner, you stand for your team and take ownership of the product. You are able to give direction and make decisions based on input from the team and stakeholders. It is important that you have a proactive and transparent communication style and know how to bring people along to change. There is a broad portfolio, so you are naturally curious and enjoy acquiring knowledge.

In addition, you recognise yourself in the following:

• Work experience: You have at least 3 years' experience as a Product Owner in a similar environment.
• Hardware experience: You have experience within a hardware development environment.
• Nice to have: Market and sector knowledge of the dairy market is a nice plus, but not a requirement.
• Language skills: Besides the Dutch language, you are also fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Good to know: You are available for 32-38 hours. Hybrid (remote) working is common within Nedap and together with your team you will arrange your own working hours for a good work-life balance. You are present on our campus in Groenlo at least two to three times a week.
