Zurich Insurance is currently looking to strengthen the team of underwriters in the Netherlands, and are hiring an Underwriter Liability.

Do you have a background and/or passion within this domain? Do you already have experience within the liability insurance market? If you combine analytical thinking with a hands-on attitude and a good dose of commercial flair, you might just be the person we’re looking for!

This is a fulltime, with 4 days also being a possibility, hybrid role where you will be working from our office in The Hague in the Netherlands.

What you will do:

Together with your colleagues you will build up and share your expertise in commercial General Liability Insurance. Teamwork is key alongside being able to independently coordinate your own portfolio from A to Z. You’re a solid communicator and you seek to broaden a national network.

Your responsibilities include:

• Technical risk assessment for both existing portfolio and new business opportunities;
• Proactively seek business opportunities within the market;
• Actively manage your own portfolio of diverse customers and collaborate with other lines of business for cross sell opportunities;
• Work closely with your team on the development and execution of the liability strategy;
• Monitor and identify market trends and coverage exposure developments;
• Coordinate, follow up, and process all administrative requirements regarding customers and contacts;
• Process data, analyse information and fact-find consolidation to result in accurate decision-making;
• Develop and roll out of new products by combining financial and analytical knowledge with an assertive and commercial approach.

What are we looking for?

• Relevant experience in the insurance sector, with a minimum of 1 - 5 years experience in General Liability
• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in preferably law or economics, and/or a degree that suits the role of underwriter;
• Fluent in Dutch and English;
• Capable to take well informed and stringent decisions;
• Attention to detail, service minded and structured way of working;
• Able to maintain a clear work overview to colleagues and team.
