What you will be doing as data engineer

As senior data engineer at Brand New Day, you will be responsible for delivering data products through our data platform:

  • Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and data models using Python, Azure Databricks, dbt and Kafka
  • Contributing to ongoing developments of the cloud platform, e.g. governance, scalability, self-service and machine learning functionality
  • Collaborating with the team and business stakeholders, applying a ‘fail fast, learn fast’ methodology
  • Contributing to data governance and data management solutions
  • Work in sprints with our data scrum team

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience as a data engineer
  • Solid work experience with a cloud data stack, preferably Azure, Databricks, dbt and Kafka
  • Experience with Bicep, Terraform or a comparable infrastructure as code
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • A proven track record of delivering data products efficiently and at scale
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business value
  • A collaborative team player with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
  • Somebody based in the Netherlands and comfortable with a hybrid work model
  • A plus: deeper experience with cloud, machine learning and/or the banking sector
