About your role at Fudura

At Fudura, we're seeking an exceptional Senior Data Platform Engineer to help lead our mission-critical energy platform. This is a senior individual contributor role that combines deep technical expertise with leadership to drive solutions that accelerate the energy transition across the Netherlands. 🌍

About the role of a Sr. Data Platform Engineer at Fudura

Join our ambitious team (established just months ago) to build a scalable, reliable platform for monitoring and managing energy storage, solar panels, charging stations, and future energy solutions.

With 8+ years of experience, you'll bring the technical depth needed to make critical architectural decisions. You'll not only write sophisticated code but elevate the entire team by establishing standards, mentoring colleagues, and solving complex technical challenges.

Your work will have direct societal impact: your solutions will help address grid congestion and accelerate the Netherlands' sustainable energy transition.

What does the role look like in practice?

Working according to the DevOps principle "you build it, you operate it," you'll seamlessly move between:

  • Hands-on Development: Build complex components focusing on high-performance data processing and scalable architectures

  • Technical Direction: Define the architectural vision and standards for the team

  • Mentorship: Elevate colleagues through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing

  • Problem Solving: Tackle the most complex technical challenges to unblock team progress

  • Innovation: Introduce new technologies and concepts to advance platform capabilities

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure robust, performant, and maintainable solutions

You'll work extensively with time-series data management, real-time data streams, and event-driven architectures to maintain 24/7 operational energy systems.

This role is a perfect fit if you have:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in software/data engineering with proven results in complex technical environments

  • Deep knowledge of high-throughput data systems (>1TB/day) and their architectural challenges

  • Advanced Python proficiency with expertise in building production-grade data pipelines and APIs

  • Strong experience with time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB or similar)

  • Expertise in designing and implementing event-driven architectures

  • Thorough knowledge of modern CI/CD practices (GitOps, Terraform, ArgoCD)

  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and inspire others

  • Pragmatic approach: knowing when to innovate versus when to build on proven technology

Here’s what we offer you:
