Analyzing current Cost Curve Model in search for a more efficient way of offering Repair & Maintenance contracts

As an intern, you will be working on analyzing our current cost model to define the sales price of our contracts. In our search to offer contracts in a more efficient and less complicated way we believe that the current model is too extensive and that improvements can be made when summarizing or deleting certain cost components. During your internship you will be working with the Sales team, the Costing and Analysis team and the Control team to find a way forward digging through data whilst keeping the end goal in mind; selling more contracts in a more user friendly way.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing current data model
• Make recommendations for improvements
• Inform and involve stake holders

Jouw profiel

We are looking for an University student with a background in Business Economics, Finance or Data analysis who likes to connect the business with crunching numbers. Preferably you have some experience with PowerBI and SQL and you know your way around Excel. The number of internship days is negotiable but we strive to minimum 4 days per week.

Commercial Services is the department within DAF Trucks N.V. where services linked to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of medium and heavy duty trucks come together. The department is responsible for the creation, delivery and sales of both existing and new services aimed at improving the Uptime of our customers’ vehicles (mainly Repair and Maintenance contracts). With a portfolio of over 82,000 trucks and a value of over 1.7 billion we contribute significantly to the profit margin of DAF Trucks and PACCAR Inc. The department in Eindhoven consists of 13 people and several others in related departments. Besides that we have roughly 20 people across Europe who work for Commercial Services in their local market.
