Job description

We are looking for a Senior Technician Process Analytical Support to join our Analytical Development team in Leiden, the Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for non-GMP analytical testing activities and related investigations and method development, while fostering collaborations within Analytical Development as well as with other departments such as Process Development.

Your role

  • Non-GMP Testing

    • Execution non-GMP testing activities for process development, including reporting, in line with project timelines and scientific needs, ensuring high standards of accuracy and quality.
    • Contribute to an efficient workflow and planning for non-GMP testing.
  • Analytical Support

    • Develop fit-for-purpose method adaptations to support early asset screening and matrix changes (flow cytometry, ELISA, cellular and/or PCR-based).
    • Provide analytical support and troubleshooting advice for process development.
    • Execute investigations for assay invalids for the non-GMP testing.
    • Develop medium-throughput adaptations for existing methods to increase testing efficiency.
    • Contribute to cell line development for assay purposes.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance

    • Ensure that all non-GMP testing is performed in compliance with internal procedures and external regulations as appropriate.
    • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities for testing processes, ensuring data integrity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • At least a master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in analytical support or a related field (job grade dependent on experience) and preferably a background in non-GMP testing. Experience in cell therapy, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, or a related industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques (e.g., flow cytometry, cell-based immunoassays, PCR, …) and testing methodologies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to troubleshoot testing and process-related challenges.
