We are building a new 2GW onshore station on the Maasvlakte! Onshore stations form the link between offshore wind farms and the high-voltage grid. We are currently preparing for the realization phase, which will start soon. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Package manager/construction manager with a background in civil engineering or utility/industrial construction.

Your mission

As a Package manager/construction manager, you are responsible for the construction methodology, technical approach, and organization of complex projects. You are involved from the tender phase and take the lead in the preparation and realization phase. You focus on a safe, high-quality, and timely project execution at optimal costs. You advise on and develop alternatives for construction methods and logistics. You also coordinate, organize, and monitor the work process within the project team, making strategic choices about planning, partners, and suppliers.

In addition:

• You calculate production standards for tender budgets and assess risks regarding time, cost, and quality.
• You draw up technical specifications and select strategic construction partners.
• You coordinate and monitor the design process to achieve an economically feasible design.
• You create contract schedules, use BIM models, and provide interim reports on project progress.
• You manage deviations, risks, and complaints and implement control measures.

Safety is central to everything you do: you promote safety awareness within the team and implement control measures to ensure safe execution.

Your Work Environment

BAM Infra Civiel delivers infrastructure solutions for a wide range of clients, including municipalities, provinces, ProRail, TenneT, Rijkswaterstaat, water boards, and private organizations. Our contracts range from traditional agreements to collaborative models such as construction teams and two-phase contracts. For this role, you will be working on the 2GW onshore substation project at Maasvlakte, Rotterdam. You will operate in a dynamic environment where you collaborate not only within BAM Infra Civiel but also with BAM Infra Roads, BAM Traffic Engineering, and BAM Energy & Water. Our projects are mainly located in the Randstad region, with Rotterdam, Gouda, Amsterdam, and Breda as key hubs. Current projects include the Alexia Viaduct in Rotterdam, the Trekvliet Bridge in The Hague, and the 2GW Substation at Maasvlakte.

What do you bring to the table?

As a Package manager/construction manager, you work in a dynamic and innovative environment and excel at planning, organizing, and prioritizing. You are analytically strong, decisive, and possess natural leadership. In addition, you bring a healthy dose of motivation, passion, and assertiveness.

Additionally:

• You have a university degree in civil or construction engineering.
• You have 7+ years of relevant experience as a work planner or project organizer for complex civil engineering projects (this is a strict requirement).
• You have extensive knowledge of concrete structures, phasing plans, and work methodologies. (this is a strict requirement)
• Your English is fluent
• You have basic A1 or A2 level Dutch skills and are you motivated to improve your Dutch language skills
