We are currently recruiting for a VP, Securitised Products & Supply Chain Finance within our SP&SCF Department in MUFG Securities in Amsterdam.
MUFG Securities (Europe) N.V., is part of the Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Holdings Co., Ltd which includes MUFG Securities EMEA plc, MUFG Securities Americas Inc., MUFG Securities (Canada), Ltd. and MUFG Securities Asia Limited. MUFG Securities (Europe) N.V. (MUS(EU)) is headquartered in Amsterdam and has a branch in Paris.
MUS(EU) conducts activities under an MFID ‘EEA passport’ applicable to transactions with and services to all EEA clients. Whilst leading up to Brexit, MUS(EU) was busy expanding our product range and enhancing our capability in readiness for the European market. The first trade was conducted on 25 March 2019. MUS(EU) offers a variety of flow products such as Debt Capital Markets, Structured Solutions, Derivatives Solutions Group, Repo Group, Equity Solutions, Securitization, and Green Bonds in order to meet the demands of our clients.
Based in Amsterdam and Paris, MUS(EU) is an integral part of MUFG’s global securities platform working closely with MUFG Securities (EMEA), MUFG Bank and MUFG bank (Europe) N.V. to offer a single MUFG solution to meet the needs of clients – it was established in order to replicate the services and arrangements which existed within MUFG Securities.
Your impact at MUFG
MUFG Securities Europe: Support MUFG’s EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products (ABS/MBS) business for European and UK clients; including supporting the origination, structuring and underwriting on behalf of MUS (EU) and MUS (EMEA) as part of MUFG’s Global Securitised Products team. In addition, support the syndication as required by and in conjunction with the DCM Syndicate team. Support distribution with the MUS (EU) and MUS (EMEA) Sales teams as appropriate.
MUFG Bank Europe: (Partial secondment) Support and/or lead the origination and execution of diversified pool securitisation transactions for European and UK clients (including trade receivables, auto, lease, handset and RMBS asset classes) in co-ordination with the other SP&SCF members.
Support GCIB in the overall development of their business including new asset class penetration, as well as supporting any origination, execution and distribution activities where required.
The role includes the following:
MUFG Securities Europe
Support the Head of Public Securitisation – Europe to manage the EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products business within the risk appetite of the firm, and all legal and regulatory requirements
Support the active management of the risks related to the above mentioned businesses
Support the Head of SP&SCF to prepare required reporting in order to ensure compliance with the appropriate internal and external regulations and procedures.
Support the Head of Origination & Structuring – Securitised Products, SP&SCF to synchronize public ABS origination activities
As directed by the Head of Public Securitisation – Europe, co-ordinate with the CMG Syndicate team to assist in syndication activities related to EMEA Public (Term) Securitised Products transactions
As directed by the Head of Public Securitisation – Europe, co-ordinate with and support the MUS (EU) and MUS (EMEA) Sales teams in order to assist in the syndication and distribution activities related to EMEA Public (Term) and private placement Securitised Products transactions
Support the development of new related products, valuation models and risk monitoring tools related to the above business
Conduct the business in line with internal MUS (EU) and SP&SCF procedures and regulatory requirements ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines - accounting for the fact that the team is located on the private side.
Contribute to the enhancement of risk management strategies and best practice/processes to support the business
Support the maintenance of high risk management standards within the team, and help maintain high risk management standards across the regions.
Support the Head of Securitised Products and Supply Chain Finance Group – EMEA and International Head of Securitized Products in the overall business development
Collaborating with and supporting MUFG Bank / other MUFG companies by providing the above products and solutions to their clients (internal/external)
Work in partnership with broader groups in MUS (EU), MUFG Securities / MUMSS / MUFG Bank to develop the business locally and globally (internally/externally)
Contributing to the Company’s revenue target and to enhancing the worldwide franchise of MUFG
Maintaining and enhancing good working relationships with stakeholders, including business and control/infrastructure teams globally
Support the development of relationships with clients (where applicable) with a view to expand the business enhancing the franchise of MUFG
With regard to International responsibilities, where applicable and under direction from the Head of Public Securitisation - Europe, support the International Head of Securitized Products and the strategy determined by the International Business Head of MUSHD, including the activity, and building of, a best-in-class International Business.
MUFG Bank Europe (via Partial Secondment)
Support the Directors, Origination & Structuring under co-ordination of the Head of Origination & Structuring in the execution of securitisation transactions and/or lead the execution of securitisation transactions (diversified pool, accounts receivable purchase schemes) including the execution of warehouse facilities/Private ABS (non-term) deals for UK and European clients.
As part of the execution process review documentation and liaise with the client, external and internal counterparties.
Analyse and produce structural risk memoranda and reports including cash flow modelling with regard to securitisation transactions.
Support the origination of securitisation products to GCIB and JCIB clients
Liaise with clients at a counterpart level to relay specific information and respond to routine queries ensuring a high level of customer service.
Assist with the development of securitisation knowledge of SP&SCF team members and other MUFG staff.
Support the Head of Public Securitisation and Head of SP&SCF in terms of business planning, strategic development of new business and new products.
Maintain and develop knowledge base of regulatory issues relating to securitisation and developments in the securitisation market.
Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.
Provide guidance and review work of more junior colleagues to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Support and/or lead specified SP&SCF projects and initiatives, setting appropriate objectives to effectively and efficiently conclude the project. Contribute to GCIB projects.
If required, represent MUFG at external forums and contribute to technical industry discussions in order to promote the Bank’s products and services.
Provide information and make presentations to senior level audiences as required to inform decision making.
Work in partnership with other parts of MUFG to deliver franchise and business growth.
In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:
Skills and experience:
Relevant industry experience with a deep conceptual understanding of the securitisation business including, but not limited to, public asset backed securitisation transactions, private diversified pool securitisation transactions financed by a bank and/or an Asset Backed Commercial Paper Conduit
Track record in supporting and/or leading the execution of securitisation transactions in the European markets covering a variety of asset classes
Good knowledge of credit, risk management, market, regulatory and legal aspects of a Securitisation business
Strong knowledge of excel and its application to securitisation transaction modelling
Complex problem solving skills
Networking and influencing skills
Political awareness and acumen
Delegation skills
English language skills are a must while fluency in German, French or Spanish (and other European languages) is desirable
