The Metabolic Health Research (MHR) department is dedicated to advancing knowledge and technology in biomedical health and drug development. We focus on developing revolutionizing technologies that make the discovery, development, and production of therapeutic drugs faster, cheaper, and greener. Our state-of-the-art laboratories are located at the Leiden BioScience Park. The Research Technician LC-MS position in the Team Accelerator Mass Spectrometry & Biomarkers (AMS&B) offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced analytical technologies in applied pre-clinical & clinical research, collaborating with various industrial and academic partners. Within the team Accelerator Mass Spectrometry & Biomarkers (AMS&B) we perform advanced analytical research and measurement of drugs and metabolites in pre-clinical and clinical samples from drug discovery and development studies. For the analysis we use accelerator mass spectrometry, chromatographic techniques and high resolution accurate mass spectrometry in our state-of-the-art facilities in Leiden. We develop and implement different methods for our internal and external customers, varying from drugs and drug metabolite analysis to endogenous biomarker analysis.
As a Research Technician LC-MS you will work in project-teams with other technicians, lead scientists and a project manager. Your tasks will include responsibility for setting up analysis plans, performing the experiments, data processing, presentation of results and (assisting in) reporting. Being part of our team you will also have different ‘quality tasks’ in the lab such as laboratory space, technical means and electronic systems management.
