LONG-TERM FORECASTING FOR ELECTRICITY MARKETS –

In this project, you will be tasked with developing long-term forecasts for electricity prices across various markets. Emmett Green has developed an in-house energy management system that can be used for live operation and simulation of different flex assets, e.g. batteries, electrolysers, renewable generation and heat pumps. These assets are controlled to optimize based on the prices of electricity on different markets. Emmett Green wants to improve the long term price forecasts used to simulate these assets.

What are your tasks?

• Quantify the impact of identified long-term trends on electricity prices and their distribution over time.
• Develop long-term price forecasts for various electricity markets.
• Utilize our energy management system to project future revenues from flexible assets.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses to understand how different market conditions could influence the financial viability different assets.

Who are we looking for?

• You are passionate about the energy transition.
• You are currently enrolled in a university (master’s level) with a focus on numerical or technical education.
• Your academic performance is above average, and you participate in at least one extra-curricular activity.
• You are energetic, proactive, and goal-oriented.
• You possess strong analytical skills, ambition, and an entrepreneurial spirit, and you thrive in a dynamic work environment.
• Experience with data analysis, forecasting, programming in python and/or electricity markets is an advantage.
