Senior Data Engineer

What we ask

  • Bachelor / Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field;
  • 7+ relevant work experience;
  • Solid professional experience in delivering data and digital solutions;
  • Knowledge of HR processes, data and analytics preferred;
  • Knowledge of Excel and Business Intelligence tools (incl. macro’s, Power Query);
  • Experience with one or multiple (HR) Analytics applications (e.g. Power BI, MicroStrategy, SuccessFactors);
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing;
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken);
  • Able to translate business questions into efficient data engineering solutions to support generating insights from data;
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors content and data models preferred;
  • Working experience on statistical modelling, data science, and programming experience in Python or R are significant advantages;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills;
  • Analytical, conceptual, and implementation skills.

Vacancy description

  • An in-depth, end-to-end insight of the lineage from source data, through the HR Data warehouse, ending in the Power BI reports and other advanced analytics models and solutions;
  • You are also the Power BI backend specialist who manages the Power BI dataset connections with HR DWH datamarts and other data sources;
  • With your HR data source and general data warehousing and modelling knowledge, you can ensure that our Azure development partners will successfully deliver sound additional datamarts and extensions;
  • Your advanced Power Query knowledge enables you to develop temporary extensions to our DataMarts;
  • You are also the Power BI expert who can set standards and best practice way of working in terms of DAX measures, data models and patterns;
  • In the broader department scope, you are the technical guru who knows how systems, data and dashboards are glued together. This enables you to design and develop engineering solutions that connect systems and analytics products.
  • You work with the team to develop the use of advanced analytics for people insights.

Team Details

You are part of the Global People Analytics Team. The team is responsible for creating high-quality people insights for our Global HR department and Management. This global team makes the step from great insights and dashboards towards standardized global dashboards and more advanced analytics. You are going to work in a dynamic and cooperative team that consists of other People Analytics specialists. You will work in an agile DevOps team. Within this team we are looking for a pro-active, analytical and experienced Senior Data Engineer / BI developer. The core location of the team is Amersfoort with a hybrid way of working. Partly from home and partly from the office. The Global People Analytics Team is part of the central innovation team; Digital HR & Projects. This team consists of 23 eager and talented professionals in the areas of Digital HR, People Analytics and Projects.
