Technical Sales Manager

We are seeking a Technical Sales Manager who will work within the German Sales Team within our Purification Technologies division, with the willingness to travel to customer sites in Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.

What you’ll do:

  • Intensive, chemical-technical consulting for our customers in a variety of applications
  • Proactive acquisition of new customers in a professional and efficient manner
  • Delivering & supporting in customer training
  • Leading technical-chemical discussions with customers and offering advice/guidance
  • Calculating water treatment plants
  • Independent work and independent planning of customer visits
  • Understand and deliver against customer needs
  • Issuing quotes and technical support to customers in a timely manner.
  • Negotiating with customers to ensure the maximum value (price and commercial terms) is achieved for Ecolab.
  • Maintenance of customer data in a CRM system

What you'll need:

  • German and English fluency is required for this position.
  • Dutch language skills are desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Strong proven experience in a technical sales function.
  • The role requires completed training/studies in the field of chemistry, process engineering, or comparable courses of study.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and Central Europe
  • Proven knowledge of water treatment and catalytic processes is desirable.
  • Microsoft Office competent
  • CRM system
  • The ability to communicate and liaise effectively with people at all levels.
  • Be highly self-motivated and can work with minimum supervision, whilst at the same time being a strong team player.
  • Negotiation and sales skills.
  • Willing to take ownership of challenging situations and issues to drive effective closure.
