Your role in our network

As our Junior Operations Officer – Sugar, you are part of our Operations Department, working within the Sugar Execution team closely alongside the commercial team on a day-to-day basis. The Sugar Execution team is a diverse and international-oriented team, with a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Our new Junior Operations Officer – Sugar has a high energy level, is an excellent communicator with external and internal clients, feels responsible, and has a flexible attitude.

At Viterra, we make things happen, and as our Junior Operations Officer – Sugar, your responsibilities will include day-to-day planning of the logistics. You will also handle on-the-spot problems and inquiries for logistical processes. You will be doing this for both bulk and container shipments.

What will you do?

  • You are responsible for the preparation of documentation for all shipments;
  • Ensuring that all terms and conditions of the underlying commercial contracts are complied with and fulfilled;
  • You will provide daily updates on logistics controls for movement of product to the port.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a Bachelor degree in logistics, or a similar field;
  • At least 1 year of relevant working experience in logistics;
  • You have good communication skills with a feeling for cultural differences;
  • A pro-active approach, foreseeing potential issues and quickly finding solutions when they arise;
  • You are eager to develop understanding of the workings of a complex commodity business;
  • Applicants must be residing in the Netherlands to be considered for this position;
  • A combination of strong logistics and administrative skills.
