The role

For this Interim position, Damen Naval is looking for Engineer in Technical Arrangements who can start on a temporary basis for the period of twelve months. As an Engineer in Technical Arrangements at Damen Naval, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that systems and components are arranged to meet stringent technical requirements while prioritizing maintainability, ergonomics, and operational safety. Collaborating closely with system specialists, safety engineers, and maintainability experts, you will strive to optimize the design of spaces where these systems are housed.

Key accountabilities

As Engineer Technical Arrangements, your key responsibilities are:

• Performing design and engineering activities related to the arrangements of technical spaces, such as engine rooms, pumprooms, steering gear rooms etc.
• Contributing to the elaboration process and development of technical arrangements through requirements analysis, concept generation, weight estimations, ergonomics, and safety considerations.
• Communicating the arrangement demands and possibilities by means of drawings, images, and presentations to support the engineering and procurement process.
• Ensuring timely and effective communication with all relevant stakeholders.
• Liaising with internal engineering project teams to ensure a timely and high-quality engineering results.

Skills & experience

As Engineer Technical Arrangements, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Master or Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in various design concepts and practices.
• Experience in technologically advanced design and processes, preferably in complex new-built ships.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, and preferably Dutch.
• Experience with 3DX engineering toolbox or Solid Edge would be advantageous.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.

• An attractive rate, ensuring at least equal pay to permanent staff.
• Travel allowance of 23 cents per kilometre.
• Flexibility to work partially from home.
