Role Description:

Booking.com is looking for a data center network engineer with experience in network automation. You will be closely working with other members of the network and Booking.com IT teams to ensure continued success for Booking.com. You will be able to make an impact on a more reliable and stable network with better monitoring and automation. With a network footprint around the globe, this role is ideal for those seeking a challenge in an ambitiously growing business and being part of its success.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Building and operating a multi-vendor network in multiple regions and data centers
  • Reduce operational work and improve business metrics with an automation-first mindset.
  • Own the network and operation of several thousands of devices end-to-end with security in mind.
  • Work with the business and users to define needs, identify problems, evaluating potential solutions, demonstrating, and implementing improvements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of networking in routing & switching, TCP/IP stack, BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN.
  • Experience with building and maintaining network automation stacks (preferably in Python) and Unix.
  • Experience with zero-touch provisioning and automated configuration management.
  • Experience with monitoring network quality, availability, and performance.
  • Experience with building and operation of large data center networks.
  • Experience with building and operation of private cloud network virtualization.
  • Experience in incident and vendor management.
