The Business Development Manager (BDM) General Industry ( Industrial - Electronics) is a key function in our European Performance Solutions (Durables) Team and works together with the segment Product Manager to develop and execute the business strategy. The focus will be to grow the Electronics, Appliances and Industrial label markets across Europe.
The primary task of the BDM is to build strong links with the market, by developing contacts with key industry partners. These primarily are end-users / OEM’s, but also key label converters in alignment with the sales team. The BDM is the driving force behind generating new leads and business opportunities, and providing an outside-in view. The strategy will be driven through the value chain addressing relevant functions to support it. The approach should allow Avery Dennison to better understand the markets and its key dynamics, introduce innovations (products, solutions) or displace competitive solutions by leveraging our value proposition. The BDM does not have “direct selling” responsibility, although exceptions may occur. The BDM will utilize consumer insights to ensure the platforms and ventures we pursue are meaningful and sustainable and function well in a matrix organization to provide direction to the management functions. The BDM will have alignments with peers in other regions of the world and with colleagues from other Avery Dennison Divisions, such as our Performance Tapes as our RFID team. Knowledge about RFID technology in general is appreciated.
Specific applications include: appliances, white goods, outdoor products, printed circuit boards, electronics. Labels typically are end user certified and withstand high durability, resistance to chemicals and high temperatures. Also they need specific compliant aspects, such as UL approvals.
