The Role

We’re seeking an experienced and visionary UX/UI Design Lead to lead the design of our customer and monitoring portals. Your goal: create intuitive, engaging, and future-proof platforms.

• The Customer Portal will help users gain insights into the energy flows at their business (think logistical real estate, transport and industry). We want to grow this portal into an engaging and interactive platform.

• The Monitoring Portal will streamline configuring and monitoring complex battery systems for our internal service team and partners.

You’ll collaborate closely with teams such as Development, Customer Operations, Field Service and Marketing, as well as engage directly with customers and partners to understand their needs. By leading the iterative design process, you’ll bring ideas to life and take iwell’s user experience to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead UX/UI design: As iwell’s ambassador for user-centered design, you will champion the discipline of UX within the organization, embedding it into our culture and processes.

• Drive user research: Lead all aspects of user research and testing, whether by briefing and managing external parties or conducting research yourself. Your findings will shape designs that truly resonate with users.

• Create impactful designs: Take ownership of designing user-friendly flows, intuitive navigation, and visually compelling interfaces. You deliver all required design outputs, including wireframes, interactive prototypes and designs that are ready to be built by the development team.

• Engage stakeholders: Leverage user profiles and insights to collaborate effectively with business and development teams, aligning on how to bring the product vision to life while balancing user needs, business needs and technical feasibility.

• Simplify complexity: Transform intricate technical battery system data into intuitive, easy-to-understand visuals.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio demonstrating your impact.

• It’s a big plus if you have experience in the B2B (energy) market and in design of customer portals.

• Affinity with working with complex matter and data and translating this into easy to understand design concepts.

• Ability to use design tools like Figma to bring concepts to life.

• Strong communicator to articulate vision, insights, and designs effectively to developers and other stakeholders.

• Experience working alongside developers and cross-functional teams in an agile rhythm.

• Expertise in leading user research and leveraging feedback to create user-first designs.

• You’re based in the Netherlands and set up to work from our Utrecht office (HQ).
