Business Development Manager - GBD (Middle East)

Job Description

This position sits at the heart of our Global Business Development (GBD) team, an inclusive and diverse group focused on bringing JDE brands to new consumers in countries where we don’t have an on-the-ground presence. As a Business Development Manager within this dynamic team, you’ll be instrumental in developing long-term strategies and achieving annual goals, spanning Retail, Out-of-Home, and e-commerce channels. Your role is central to creating meaningful impact across our international markets and managing partnerships with a range of distributors.

Your Responsibilities

As our Business Development Manager, you’ll take charge of key responsibilities, including:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement long-term strategies and annual plans for business growth, maximizing JDE’s market share and profitability in your assigned countries.
  • Operations & P&L Management: Oversee the P&L for assigned clusters, managing contracts, trade allowances, and distributor relationships to align with business goals.
  • Distributor & Customer Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong partnerships with top distributor management, aligning distributor strategies with JDE’s goals.
  • Market Analysis & Reporting: Analyze market data and KPIs to identify growth opportunities, manage forecasts, and ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Cross-functional Team Coordination: Lead and motivate cross-functional distributor teams, coordinating with internal teams in Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to achieve success in each market.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a commercially astute professional with a passion for excellence and an unwavering sense of accountability. You should have:

  • Experience: A Master’s degree (preferably in Business Administration or Economics), with over 10 years in a senior sales or international business role, including at least two years managing distributor relationships.
  • Skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills, proven negotiation capabilities, and excellent communication skills in English.
  • Commercial Expertise: Experience managing a sizeable P&L, understanding category management in retail and OOH environments, and knowledge of cross-border sales operations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A proven track record in building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and adapting to diverse cultural environments.

Nice to Haves

  • Knowledge of route-to-market strategies and financial considerations in cross-border transactions.
  • Familiarity with international e-commerce strategies and online retail channels.
