The Position

Do you have an affinity with marine construction and do you see yourself working with state-of-the-art equipment that meets the latest technical standards? Van Oord is looking for 3rd Engineers, preferably with experience on dredging-, offshore- and/or offshore wind vessels. As a 3rd Engineer, you will co-manage the maintenance and repair of the engine room and technical installations, ensuring equipment availability for optimal production while keeping safety, maritime, environmental regulations, and Van Oord guidelines in mind.

Your Impact

As a 3rd Engineer, your role is crucial in maintaining and optimizing the technical installations on board, together with the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer. Your responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and optimizing the availability of technical installations on board.
• Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and maintaining safety equipment (ISM & ISPS) to meet Van Oord’s high standards.
• Collaborating daily with the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer to plan and execute necessary tasks.
• Maintaining the ship's administration in line with Van Oord standards.

About You

You are stress-resistant, flexible, and agile, with a strong hands-on mentality. Your excellent communication skills and decisiveness make you a valuable team player. You possess:

• A Technical Maritime degree or equivalent practical experience as an engineer on board.
• Familiarity with STCW courses, and you are willing to complete all Van Oord required training.
• Fluency in English at a professional level, suitable for international operations.
